Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP)

.

Based on the results of your initial consultation and assessment, our team of behavioral health professionals may recommend our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). PHP can provide structured, intensive support for people experiencing mental health or substance use concerns who do not require 24-hour care.

PHP is also an important next step after completing inpatient treatment for mental health stabilization or substance use detoxification. For those who are ready to transition from inpatient care but still benefit from structured treatment, PHP provides continued support.

Medication management, evidence-based therapy and holistic therapies are key components of the program, supporting you as you work toward improved mental health and overall well-being.

What We Treat

PHP provides treatment for a wide range of mental health and substance use concerns, including:

  • Anxiety disorders
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Borderline personality disorder
  • Depression disorders
  • Drug or alcohol abuse or addiction
  • Mental health symptoms that occur alongside substance use
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Stress
  • Trauma

What to Expect

Our Partial Hospitalization Program is designed for adults 18 and older and is led by compassionate, master's-level, licensed clinicians. Groups meet daily for approximately two to four weeks, providing structured support while giving you the opportunity to better understand your thoughts, emotions and behaviors and develop healthy coping strategies and skills for moving forward.

The foundation of PHP is structured, evidence-based psychotherapy delivered in an age-appropriate small-group setting. This supportive environment can help you build self-awareness, learn and practice healthy behaviors and connect with others who may be facing similar challenges.

Our clinicians use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Group discussions may focus on topics such as:

  • Self-care
  • Coping skills and stress management
  • Emotional regulation
  • Relapse prevention and recognizing triggers
  • Family and relationship dynamics
  • Grief and loss
  • Social anxiety
  • Conflict resolution
  • Self-esteem and self-worth

In addition to group therapy, the program incorporates holistic activities designed to promote relaxation and mindfulness, including art, music and yoga. Depending on your individual needs and treatment goals, your therapist may also recommend individual or family counseling.

When appropriate, licensed medical providers oversee medication management. Combined with therapy, medication management can help address symptoms and support your overall well-being.

As you progress through treatment, you may transition to our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for continued support. Once you’ve met your treatment goals, our clinical team will help coordinate follow-up care with trusted community providers so you can maintain your progress and continue your recovery.

How to Start

Finding the right care is an important part of seeking treatment. Your journey begins with a confidential assessment where you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your physical, mental, social and emotional health history with our team. Assessments can be scheduled by phone or by walking in and our licensed behavioral health professionals will work with you and our medical staff to determine the most appropriate course of care.

If PHP is a good fit for your needs, we’ll explain the program and develop a personalized treatment plan with you. Alternatively, if your needs are better addressed by a community provider, we’ll help connect you with appropriate local resources. Asking for help with a mental health or substance use concern takes courage. With the right care and ongoing support, you can take meaningful steps toward better health and a healthier, more fulfilling life.
