Inpatient Mental Health Services
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when you’re facing mental health challenges, substance use or both. Depending on your needs and the severity of your symptoms, inpatient mental health treatment may provide the structured, supportive care you need.
Before beginning treatment at Brentwood Behavioral Health, you’ll receive a comprehensive psychiatric and physical evaluation from our team of health care professionals at no cost and with no obligation. As part of the assessment, we’ll evaluate your symptoms, overall well-being, safety and stability. If you’re experiencing a mental health crisis — such as feeling at risk of harming yourself or others or having difficulty managing daily life — inpatient treatment may be recommended.
We treat a variety of mental health conditions, including:
- Anxiety
- Bipolar Disorder
- Borderline Personality Disorder
- Depression
- Psychosis
- Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD)
- Suicidal Ideation
If our facility is the right fit for you, we’ll work to admit you as quickly as possible so you can begin receiving care. No two people experience mental health challenges in exactly the same way, so your treatment experience will be personalized to fit your needs and goals.
Your Inpatient Mental Health Treatment Plan
Our multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, therapists and other specialists will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan designed for you. Along with group therapy, your plan may include other individual therapy and holistic activities such as art, music and yoga.
Your treatment plan may evolve throughout your stay as you build new skills and develop healthy coping strategies. If you’re also experiencing alcohol or drug addiction, your care may include a medically supervised detox period designed to help you safely begin treatment under the close supervision and monitoring of our medical team.
Treatment approaches may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness and relaxation techniques. We’ll work with you to identify the approaches you are most comfortable with and that best support your recovery.
Your Experience
Just as your treatment plan is personalized, the services and support you receive throughout your stay will be tailored to your needs. We encourage patients to maintain a daily routine while also providing opportunities for rest, relaxation and personal time.
A variety of group therapy sessions are available throughout the day, and you’ll meet regularly with your psychiatrist to monitor your progress and adjust your treatment plan as needed. Family visitation is available daily but is not required. You may also have opportunities to connect with peer and community support groups that meet at our facility, including groups affiliated with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and spiritual support groups.
Our Facility
We want you to feel welcome, comfortable and safe throughout your stay.
Our mental health treatment facility features semi-private rooms with private bathrooms, along with well-maintained outdoor spaces. Inside, you’ll find spacious community, activity and recreational spaces, including a fitness center.
Three hot meals are served each day in our cafeteria and prepared by our on-site chefs. We are happy to accommodate any special dietary needs you may have.
Next Steps
Your recovery begins with an assessment at our facility. Assessments are available 24/7 by phone and we accept walk-ins at any time.
Following your assessment, we’ll work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan based on your needs. From the beginning of your stay, we’ll also start planning for a safe and sustainable discharge from inpatient care.
After inpatient treatment, many patients continue their recovery through our outpatient services. Depending on your needs, we may recommend our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), a full-day or evening program that includes therapy, medication management and health education. We also offer an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), which provides continued support and focuses on helping you maintain the progress you’ve made.
