Outpatient Substance Use Treatment
Recovery Support That Fits Your Life
Recovery should work with your life, not against it. The outpatient substance use treatment programs at Brentwood Behavioral Health provide flexible, structured care for individuals who are committed to recovery but do not require inpatient treatment or crisis stabilization. Through evidence-based treatment, education and ongoing support, we help individuals build a foundation for lasting recovery while continuing to manage work, family, school and other daily responsibilities.
Outpatient Treatment at Our Facility
We offer flexible outpatient rehab programs designed to meet a variety of needs and recovery goals. Outpatient care allows you to receive treatment during the day or evening while continuing to live at home and maintain your regular routines.
Program lengths typically range from one to three months, depending on factors such as the severity of the substance use disorder, treatment progress and individual recovery needs.
Outpatient treatment may be a good fit if you:
- Have not experienced recent relapse
- Have a stable and supportive home environment
- Are medically stable and physically healthy
- Have completed detoxification or do not require detox services
Individuals may be referred by a therapist, healthcare provider or hospital. You can also contact us directly to schedule a confidential assessment. During the assessment process, we may evaluate factors such as your medical history, current recovery needs and home environment to determine whether outpatient treatment is the right level of care for you.
Our Outpatient Programs
Our outpatient programs are designed to provide clinical and therapy while allowing participants to continue meeting work, school and family obligations. Treatment is available during both daytime and evening hours and focuses on recovery, skill development and overall wellness.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs) offer a structured level of care that is often used as a transition from inpatient treatment. They can also serve as an alternative to inpatient care when intervention occurs before symptoms become overwhelming.
PHP participants typically attend treatment for up to six hours per day, five days per week, while returning home each evening. Patients generally meet with a healthcare provider within the first few days of treatment, and on-site nursing support is available throughout the program.
Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and counselors, participants may benefit from:
- Individual and group therapy
- Behavioral and holistic treatment approaches
- Wellness education
- Recreational and experiential activities
- Family therapy and family meetings
- Medication management and support
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) are designed for individuals who need ongoing support for substance use or mental health concerns but do not require around-the-clock care or the intensity of a PHP.
IOP sessions typically meet three to five days per week for approximately three hours per session. Both daytime and evening options may be available depending on program availability.
Treatment may include:
- Group therapy
- Medication management
- Educational programming
- Skill development and coping strategies
- Relapse prevention planning
- Peer support and recovery-focused groups
Outpatient Drug Addiction Treatment
Recovery from drug addiction requires more than stopping substance use. It involves developing healthier habits, identifying triggers and learning new ways to navigate life's challenges.
Because every individual's experience with addiction is different, our PHP and IOP drug addiction programs are tailored to each person's unique needs. Treatment may include:
- Medication-assisted treatment and medication management
- Group therapy and peer support
- Family involvement and family education
- Recovery education and life-skills training
These services help individuals better understand the factors contributing to addiction, build healthy coping skills and strengthen strategies for preventing relapse.
Outpatient Alcohol Addiction Treatment
Alcohol addiction can be difficult to overcome, but recovery is possible with the right support system and treatment plan. Our outpatient alcohol treatment programs help individuals stop harmful drinking behaviors, identify triggers and develop effective relapse-prevention strategies.
Outpatient alcohol treatment is often most appropriate for individuals who have a stable home environment and can maintain sobriety between treatment sessions.
Treatment services may include:
- Medication-assisted treatment when appropriate
- Group therapy and peer support
- Family meetings and family education
- Recovery-focused education and skill building
Through structured treatment and ongoing guidance, participants learn practical tools for maintaining sobriety and applying recovery skills to everyday life.
Ongoing Care and Recovery Support
Recovery is an ongoing journey, and continued support often plays an important role in maintaining long-term sobriety. The Brentwood Behavioral Health team is committed to helping patients stay connected to the resources and support systems they need after treatment.
We can assist with referrals to community-based recovery programs, including Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), peer support groups and other ongoing recovery services.
Through continued care, relapse prevention planning and connections to community resources, we help individuals build confidence and maintain progress long after completing treatment.
